From the Cardinal-Archbishop of Manila

Holiness is the vocation of every follower of Christ. The Dogmatic Constitution on the Church reminds us that all the faithful, whatever their condition or state – though each in his own way – are called by the Lord to that perfection of sanctity by which the Father himself is perfect (Lumen Gentium, 11). We are all called to be holy. We are all called to be saints. A spiritual writer once said, the greatest sorrow in one’s life is not to become a saint.

The Church, by canonizing some of the faithful, recognizes in them the power of the Spirit of holiness and proposes them as models and intercessors. Through the saints, the holiness and glory of God is revealed. In the saints, we are given the proof that sanctity is possible.

We thank the Confraternity of Catholic Saints of the Diocese of Cubao for its noble mission of making the saints known, promoting devotion to them, and even making relics of saints available for the faithful’s veneration. May your programs and activities inspire our people to live holy lives in imitation of the saints so that one day we, too, may enjoy with them the vision of seeing God face to face.

God bless you always!

(Signed)
